The Red River Sankofa Project

The Red River Sankofa Project is committed to connecting and honoring our ancestral ties to NW Louisiana &  NE Texas by focusing on burial ground preservation. This rather remote, but bountiful area along the upper Red River of Louisiana and along the Texas Louisiana border has long been forgotten in historical text therefore we are dedicated towards sharing the rich stories and contributions of our African American ancestors who settled the area. Please explore the site and if you would like to contribute stories, history, pictures, cemetery transcriptions and any other record that would tie your ancestor(s) to the area.
